Meghalaya government decided to suspend operations of departments

The State Government of Meghalaya has also decided to temporarily close a number of its departments with immediate effect till March 31.

 

“This is in pursuance of the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations 2020 issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department,” Additional Chief Secretary RV Suchiang said on Monday.

 

She however said that all employees of the concerned departments are to be available on call in case of any requirement and are to keep their mobile phones switched on.

 

“The mobile numbers of all such employees should be shared with their Controlling Officer,” Suchiang also said.

 

The departments which have been temporarily closed include Arts and Culture, Border Areas Development, Cabinet Affairs, Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Cooperation, Fisheries, Finance (AF/PR/PC), Home (Passport), Housing, legal Metrology, Programme Implementation & Evaluation, Personnel & Administrative Reforms (AR Cell / Service Rules Cell), Textiles, Secretariat Administration (Record), Soil & Water Conservation, Sports & Youth Affairs and Tourism.
