Meluri DPDB raises concern over teacher shortage

Meluri, June 11 (MExN): The monthly meeting of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Meluri, was held at the DB’s Court, Meluri, on June 11 under the chairmanship of Advisor for NSDMA and Inland Waterways and DPDB Chairman, Meluri, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe.

Welcoming the members, Z Nyuthe reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and discussed various developmental issues concerning the district. He expressed concern over the shortage of teachers in several government schools under the Pochury area and emphasised the need to induct additional teachers to address the issue.

Deputy Commissioner of Meluri, Phuleshe K Yepthomi, stressed the need to establish a Red Cross Society in the district for the welfare of the general public. He also requested all departments to submit their Local Area Development Programme (LADP) proposals at the earliest. During the meeting, the board recommended a proposal submitted by Khumiasu village seeking a regional taxi permit to operate services between Khumiasu and Dimapur.

Later, SDO PHED Rangam Nyuwi delivered a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the department’s activities and the various schemes and programmes being implemented in Meluri district.
