The Midland Panchayat, Kohima today celebrated its 50 years (Golden Jubilee) 1970-2020 here today at Midland Panchayat Hall.
Kovi Meyase, Administrator, Kohima Municipal Council & CEO Kohima Smart City Development Limited speaking in the occasion as the Guest of Honour said that Kohima would not be cleaner or smarter without the Panchayat, while expressing his happiness on the occasion for everyone in the Colony to be celebrating 50 years.
“On a joyous occasion as today, we also must look forward to the future and the legacy that we can leave behind for our ward and our community. Kohima today is a lot cleaner because of your ward. Kohima today is a lot safer because of your ward. Kohima today is a lot smarter because of your ward. And I am grateful to this ward and all the other wards for the combined contributions and services that you have unceasingly rendered towards this,” he said.
Midland Panchayat, General Secretary, Vihu Meyase chaired the function while welcome address was delivered by Midland Panchayat chairman Visa Meru. P Atuo Mezhur, advisor, Midland Panchayat also exhorted the gathering. Vote of thanks was proposed by Midland Panchayat vice chairman Ngulho Mepfhü-o.
