MOKOKCHUNG, JUNE 13 (MExN): A migrant worker in a stone crusher unit was murdered by his co-worker near Settsü village, about 7 kms away from Mokokchung town, Sunday. The deceased has been identified as one Depok , aged around 18 years, S/o late Nirmul from Silonijan village under Karbi Anglong District, Assam and the accused has been identified as one Lepa Mora, 18 years , S/o Vokha Mora from Balipattar village, also under Karbi Anglong district of Assam. The deceased body was retrieved by police at around 10:00 pm last night from the site of the incident, between Settsü village and police check post, Settsü. Police sources have confirmed that the accused has confessed of the crime. It is said that the victim “insulted” the convicted, leading to physical confrontation between the two, which resulted in the death of the victim. A post mortem was conducted at Imkongliba District Memorial Hospital, Mokokchung and a case has been registered at Mokokchhung Police Station 2 under case No. 0007/11 U/S 302 IPC. The corpse remained in the custody of the police as the victim’s relatives were yet to arrive till the filling of this report.
