Wokha, February 19 (MExN): Department of Soil & Water Conservation organized Soil Health Card day on February 19 at Wokha Village Council Hall, during the observation of Mini Soil Testing kit and Soil Health Cards scheme which was inaugurated by ADC Wokha, K. Mhathung Tsanglao.
According to a DIPR report, while speaking during the occasion, he said through this scheme farmers will be benefited to a great extend in terms of yielding more organic agri-products. He also urged the farmers to take up corrective measures in their farming practices to maintain productivity.
Introducing about the scheme, JSCO, Wokha, Nzanbeni Jami said, the scheme aims at issuing soil health cards to farmers every two years in order to address nutritional deficiencies in soil.
She further said that the scheme has been introduced to assist State Government to issue Soil Health Card to all farmers in the country. It also provides information to farmers on nutrients status on their soil along with the recommendation for improving soil health and its fertility.
SCA, Yanpothung Jami gave demonstration about the kit to the gathering. The function was chaired by DSCO, Wokha, Litemo Murry while Chumbemo Kikon proposed the vote of thanks.
