Minister hints separate dist for Tseminyu

Zisunyu Village  | December 15: Minister Health & Family Welfare, Kuzholuzo Nienu today disclosed that talks are underway for a separate district for Tseminyu and called upon the Rengma people to wait for the best time to come. While referring to the cabinet meeting held yesterday he said it was like a Christmas package for the Rengma community and further informed that Tseminyu will now have a separate District Planning Board and will also have a separate BDO Block at Chunglika.
RSU 36th General Conference held The minister was addressing the 36th General Conference of the Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) held today at T. Zisunyu Village, Tseminyu sub division, under the theme “Towards a New Horizon”. The minister maintained that there is no place for weaker persons in today’s society and urged the gatherings to strive harder to be at the level of the other tribes.
On the 10 EAC post Special Recruitment Drive, the minister said the step initiated by the advanced tribes against the 10 EAC Post, (SRD) is an eye opener and a wakeup call for all the backward tribes to be more sincere and not to wait for quotas, “We are backward by compulsion because Christianity reached late in our area,” he said, adding that the SDR issue has created platform for the four tribes (Zeliang, Pochury, Chakhesang and Rengma) to open a joint forum and said “While trying to protect our own rights, we should not encroach upon the rights of other tribes/people.”
Subsequent upon the memorandum submitted by the RSU to construct a Community Health Center (CHC) in its town, the minister gave a spot assurance that the people of Rengma will see the new building by next year.
Speaking on political scenario, Nienu said the lone sitting MLA from Tseminyu is an upright leader and urged the attendees of the conference to be truthful and to have political vision, “Your brains and common sense should be your political vision”, he said, adding more, to look beyond to achieve in life as he confidently expressed that NPF will return to power in the next coming general election.
Parliamentary Secretary, Horticulture, R. Khing who graced the occasion as the guest of Honor, in his brief address also urged the students to have serious devotion towards education and to abstain from the distractive activities and to equip with thorough knowledge to be a future leader.
Delivering a greeting on the occasion, President Naga Students’ Federation, Kelhouneizo Yhome acknowledged RSU for their contribution to the federation and the Nagas in general, he also urged the general public present at the conference to allow the students’ organization to work without hesitation to justify the rights of the students.
Extending its solidarity to the RSU, Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) also delivered short speech and presented gift to the president RSU while also Chakhesang Public organization (CPO) also attended the conference.
As the Conference Choir and The Chorus group enchanted the crowd with their melodious voice, the other highlights of the programme included presidential address by Kenneth Rengma, President RSU, welcome note by Zukeya Woch and Rev. Tenga Seb, Executive secretary, CRBC Zunpha pronounced invocation. The programme was chaired by Kvulo Lorin while Zentilo Tep delivered word of appreciation.
Earlier the Minister Health & Family Welfare, Kuzholuzo Nienu also inaugurated the Accident & Trauma Centre at Tseminyu CHC in the presence of Parliamentary Secretary, Horticulture, R.Khing.
