Miss Mimkut Nagaland 2019 Queens, under the aegis of Miss Mimkut Nagaland Initiatives underwent a workshop with Loreni Sophia, lawyer and Director of Community Health Initiative who is also the founder and proprietor of a non-profit organization called 'Menstrual Initiative Nagaland' on September 13.
Through this NGO, Miss Mimkut Nagaland Initiative has procured sanitary pads for distribution to women in select Kuki villages all over Nagaland. Menstrual Initiative Nagaland has been working diligently in the state to spread awareness on the issue of menstrual health and hygiene, breaking barriers of menstrual myth and stigma and also providing assistance to those in need.
It may be noted that this is a first of its kind initiative to extend community services on the part of Miss Mimkut Nagaland Initiatives under the banner, “Pads to Empower - Numeite Thenna Le Damtheina Dinga.” Miss Mimkut Nagaland Initiative is a fledgling non-profit society and any kind of support is welcome, a press note received here stated.
