Mkg: Ao legislators hold joint meeting with civil bodies

Five Ao legislators held a joint meeting with civil bodies and met the Mokokchung DC to discuss matters relating to the COVID-19 pandemic on May 5. 
 

Mokokchung, May 5 (MExN):  Five Ao legislators, Metsubo Jamir, Dr. Longrineken, Imkong L. Imchen, T. Amenba Yaden and Dr. Imtiwapang Aier held a joint meeting with the Ao civil bodies namely, the Ao Senden, Watsu Mungdang, Ao Students’ Conference, All Ward Union and Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem today at Ao Senden office building.


The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss matters relating to the pandemic and to hear out on the functioning of the various civil bodies in Mokokchung town. While talking with the civil bodies, Metsubo Jamir, Minister, Rural Department, said that it is necessary to appreciate and encourage one another during this time of uncertainty and that the people should learn to practice social distancing and observe all guidelines laid down instead of complaining and too much on the workings of the government. 


Imkong L.Imchen, MLA, NPF appreciated the efforts of the civil bodies in maintaining and controlling the law and order situation in their respective areas. While addressing the meeting he stressed on the economy of the state and said we should not low down the economic productivity and continue our self-sustaining efforts. Dr. Longrineken, Advisor,NH & T&A, also supplemented by saying that we need to give Importance on agri and allied industry for our sustainability.


Matters were also discussed regarding the border belts of the district where T. Amenba Yaden, MLA, commented that the security in the border belts needs to be tightened.  Various suggestions and inputs were put across by the various members of the civil bodies and discussions were held at length.


The legislators encouraged the civil bodies to join head and make better decisions to fight the pandemic. Dr. Imtiwapang Aier, MLA, informed that the second wave of COVID-19 will be more fatal as predicted by experts and that we should be alert and not let our guard down.


The legislators also met the Deputy Commisioner Mokokchung and other administrative officers where matters related to COVID-19 was discussed and a fogging machine, donated by the Nagaland Bharatiya Janata Party was handed over to the DC.
