Mkg prepares for IPPI

Mokokchung, January 18 (MExN): District Task Force meeting on Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) held at Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mokokchung on January 15 was chaired by DC Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir, NCS.

 


A press release from Chief Medical Office, Mokokchung stated that Dr Ayangla Saku, DPO (RCH&UIP) briefed about IPPI which includes the poliomyelitis, risk of wild polio virus and to make the community aware of the necessity of multiple administration of OPV. She appreciated the achievement of 98% coverage in the previous IPPI and discussed the issues relating to the target set for immunization in the district. She informed that 205 polio booths will be set up throughout the District on January 19 and house to house visit would be carried on January 20 and 21 for those missed out children.

 


DPO (RCH&UIP) requested the CDPOs to initiate the Anganwadi at their jurisdiction to be more active for the progress of immunization programme.

 


DC Limawabang Jamir discussed and stressed upon making it mandatory for children to be fully immunised. Dr Kibangkumba, Dy CMO suggested that during NDD the De-worming tablet should be administered in the school in presence of the teacher and Health workers ensuring the intake.  Dr Chubala Aier, CMO thanked all the different Departments and Personnel present in the meeting and ask for their continuous Co-operation and support in all the activities ahead.
