
Kohima, December 27 (MExN): Witnessing the high prevalence rate of blood pressure problems and its inter-related health risks like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, etc., among the elderly people, Khriehu Liezietsu MLA, 10th Northern Angami-1 Assembly Constituency has distributed self-monitoring blood-pressure kits to about 1,500 beneficiaries of his constituency.
According to a press release from the Northern Angami - I, NPF media cell, the ‘Christmas gift’ was accompanied by a message from the MLA conveying greetings and also stressing on the importance of regular self-monitoring to keep health complications at bay during the festive season.
It said that the initiative was a long standing tradition adopted by the MLA to distribute regular relief assistance to the old and the destitute within his constituency. The release also said that earlier in the year, the MLA distributed food grains and electric kettles, while over the years, scholarships for poor children, blankets, home appliances, ration supplies, Christmas gifts, etc., have found their way into the homes of the elderly and the destitute on a regular basis.
