Mokokchung, January 13 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of January 2020 was held on January 10 at the Conference Hall of the ADC (Planning), Mokokchung. 


A DIPR report stated that the meeting was chaired by Deputy Speaker NLA & Chairman DPDB Mokokchung, Sharingain Longkumer and also attended by Minister, Higher Education, Technical Education, Tribal Affairs, Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along.


The Chairman addressed the meeting by apprising the members that the year 2020 will be a year of collective effort for significant changes in the district. He asked all the members to come forward and to put the heads together to ensure that the district is fully functioning. 


The meeting discussed issues of health care in the district. The House deliberated on the present scenario of the District Hospital (IMDH) in the district and the urgent needs to be looked into. The chairman asked the MS (IMDH) to prepare detail report on the functioning of the Hospital and also highlight the urgent needs in the Hospital and to submit the same in the next DPDB meeting.


The meeting discussed on financial assistance in lieu of the 3rd cycle of National Assessment and Accreditation Council in respect of Fazl Ali College. On this, Minister, Higher Education, Technical Education, Tribal Affairs, Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along said, it is high time to make Fazl Ali College become autonomous. Taking examples of the contributions made by the denizens of other districts, the Minister urged the people of the district to come forward and to contribute in whatever ways they can towards the college and also apprised the DPDB members to contribute with whatever they can to help uplift the college as desired.


Reviewing the last DPDB meeting minutes, the House approved and forwarded to the Government the urgent need of a Sub-Centre at Wameken Village under Tuli Sub- Division.


Nodal Officer, ABPMJAY (Ayushmsn Bharat), Dr. Sentila gave a Power Point presentation on the importance and updates of the Programme.
