Mokokchung, December 8 (MExN): Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting cum pre-Christmas programme was held on December 6 at Milak River, Tuli under the Chairmanship of Sharingain Longkumer Deputy Speaker NLA and Chairman DPDB Mokokchung.


The meeting was attended by Minister for Technical & Housing, Tongpang Ozukum; Advisor Industries & Commerce/NIDC, Imnatiba; Imkong L  Imchen, MLA; Amenba Yaden, MLA and also the Heads of Offices from Tuli, Tuli Ward representatives and Tatars from the surrounding villages.


Chairman DPDB, Sharaingain gave special thanks to Tatars from three villages-Kangtsung, Wameken and Merangkong villages for hosting the meeting. He thanked Amenba Yaden MLA for being the host of the meeting.


Advisor, Imnatiba shared his views on the good and bad on the registration of societies in the district, he is of the opinion that some society are formed only to avail the govt. subsidies with no performance on which he advised the house to be aware of such societies. He said some societies are performing equally good if not better than government departments. 


Imkong L Imchen, MLA expressed concern for the upliftment of Fazl Ali College Mokokchung and Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital Mokokchung.


Proceeding with day’s agenda, the Board approved and recommended for onward submission to the Government- recognition of Ungma village as Tourist village, traffic situation in Mokokchung where SP (police) Mokokchung briefed the house on its improvement with 1 (one) month trial bases. On registration of Societies: Operation Tuli, Tuli; Growth Centre Society Artang Ward Mokokchung; Arju Rural Development Longjang village; Manna Welfare Society, Alongmen ward Mokokchung and Tsupokdak Society Tuli Town. 


The meeting also discussed about establishment of Sub Treasury Office at Tuli on which the house deliberated on the issue and agreed to send the proposal to government, re-introduction of Passenger Train in Tuli Station 3; establishment of Sub-centre (Medical) at Wameken village on which the board entrusted the Sub- Divisional Medical Officer (SDMO) Tuli to prepare detail report; Proposal seeking approval of statement and technical sanction in view of Merangkong Senso Telongjem, Tuli (MSTT) Golden Jubilee.
