Mon, February 7 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS handed over a sum of Rs 50,000 each to four upcoming entrepreneurs at a function held at the DC’s Office Conference Hall in Mon Town on February 6.


The financial assistance for upscaling of entrepreneurs was from the Department of Underdeveloped Areas (DUDA), Government of Nagaland.


During the function, the DC encouraged the entrepreneurs to work harder stating that their success story is a source of inspiration to the youth of Nagaland.


He also acknowledged DUDA for extending assistance to deserving entrepreneurs. As per a press release from the DC, Minphao Konyak runs a cobbler shop in Walo Ward, Mon Town and is amongst the first Konyaks to start a cobbler shop in Mon Town. Coming from a family where both his parents are farmers, Ahon Konyak studied up to HSLC and runs his barber shop with the help of an assistant in a rented room in Tompang Ward, Mon Town. Yapang Konyak is a freelance photographer/videographer and graphic designer, who did not take up any professional training or course but his passion brought him to where he is now, the release stated. Chinglang Konyak is the founder and Director of Mon School of Music. The School provides formal training to aspiring musicians and aims to be an institution where the students can pursue music as a career in their future.
