Mon, August 13 (MExN): The Mon Theological College is the lone college in Nagaland offering B Th courses under the Senate of Serampore College, Principal Threiwang Konyak informed in a press release.
Informing about the MTC’s affiliation with the SSC, the release stated that an Evaluation Commission comprising Rev Dr M Justin Moses, Acting Registrar, SSC and Rev Dr Limatula Longkumer, Dean, Research/SATHRI visited the college on August 10, to confirm the virtual commission visit report which was due to take place last year.
The Evaluation Commission, upon interaction with students, found that Mon Theological College is strategically located and serves as a convenient advantage for students from the neighbouring states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh as well as parts of Myanmar and the Indo-Bhutan Valley.
The release stated that the Commission deliberated with the MTC Board of Governors, faculty, and staff about the projects and plans to be taken up. It also said that the Commission informed that the Senate of Serampore College has proposed to phase out B Th course from its curriculum.
“The University, however, on need basis, has retained few B Th colleges and Mon Theological College is the lone B Th College in Nagaland under its affiliated colleges,” the release stated.
The Commission also noted that the NTC has scope to grow further and urged the college to take tactical advantage by improving its library and infrastructure so that students from across the north east region and beyond can come for the B Th course, it added.
