Kohima, January 2 (MExN): Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) speaker late Vikho-o Yhoshü, who passed away on December 30, was laid to rest on January 1 at his native Kigwema, Kohima. More organizations and individuals have paid tribute to late Vikho-o Yhoshü and conveyed condolences to his bereaved family.
AAGBA: The All Angami GBs’ Association (AAGBA) in a condolence message stated that it is deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Speaker, Vikho-o Yhoshü.
The Association described him as an upright man with a generous heart and deep concern for the uplift of the people, late Vikho-o had contributed immensely to the society in various capacities even before joining active politics.
“He was always ready to give patient hearing and extend assistance whenever approached and the AAGBA is greatly indebted to him for his constant support to the Association, particularly we recall with deep sense of gratitude, his generous contribution towards the construction of Angami GB Association building, at a time when the Association was undergoing tremendous financial difficulties.”
It expressed grief that the demise of Yhoshü is a great loss to the people of Nagaland in general and the Angami community in particular and the vacuum created will take a long time to fill.
The AAGBA also prays that the Almighty God will grant eternal rest to the departed soul and also give strength and courage to all the loved and dear ones and prays for the grieving family to find solace in the Almighty.
CPO: The Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) expressing sadness over the demise of late Vikho-o Yhoshü recollected him as a very amiable, helpful and accessible leader unlike some elected leaders his door always remains open for anyone seeking his help, guidance and advice. “In his death, we have lost a very capable leader, a leader whose services would be immensely missed and felt by the less fortunate section of the society.”
At this hour of grief, the CPO said, along with its all frontal organizations, it joins the bereaved family in mourning, may God Almighty bestow His strength and comfort to all the loved ones of our leader to overcome this great loss.
CGOK: The Chakhroma Gazetted Officers Krotho (CGOK) has expressed shock over the demise of late Vikho-o Yhoshü. CGOK stated that late Vikho-o was a man of principle who put his people first and took decisions very wisely; a true character of a real leader. With all these qualities, with full trust his people elected him for three consecutive terms to represent them in the highest policy decision making body of the State i.e. the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
The CGOK asserted that late Vikho-o on his part has also never failed his people in bringing all round development since the time he entered public life in 2008.
Therefore, the CGOK feels that with the huge vacuum created by his demise, it would be difficult for anyone to fit into his shoes and also that his demise is not only a loss to his family and his people but for the entire State.
The Krotho at this time of grief convey deepest condolences and stands by with the bereaved family. “It would also like to encourage the family to have a time of celebration for all the good works he has done during his journey in this world and that now he is at a better place with his Savior. May the Almighty give solace and peace to the family and let his soul rest in peace,” it added.
SAPO: The Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) in a press release stated that it is extremely shocked and saddened by the sudden demise of late Vikho-o Yhoshü.
With his death the SAPO has lost a prominent leader, a man of high caliber, sound judgment and with unflappable leadership. His humbleness, gentleness and kindness had brought hope and encouragement to the lives of both young and old by serving as one of the most humble and dynamic leader of the SAPO and Nagas in general. His lost has created a vacuum yet His extraordinary legacy will thrive on and inspire many generations to come.
“May our Almighty God grant solace to the bereaved family and may his soul rest in eternal peace,” SAPO added.
DAN: The Development Authority Nagaland (DAN) Dimapur is saddened and pained to learn the sudden demise of late Vikho-o Yhoshü.
On his maiden victory in 2008, late Vikho-o was appointed as Chairman DAN. Paying rich tribute to late Vikho-o, the DAN in a condolence message stated that he was a very humble, kind hearted and a patient man; a man of principle who always stood for the betterment of his subordinates and never puts himself first; a remarkable quality of a true and real leader.
DAN was able to achieve so many benefits during his term and for which the authority shall ever be grateful to him and shall cherish for a long time, it said. “In his demise, the vacuum created shall be very difficult to fill in. His death is not only a los for his family and his people but for the entire State,” DAN stated.
At this time of grief, DAN conveyed its deepest condolences and added that it stands with the bereaved family. “May the Almighty give solace and peace to the family and pray that his soul rest in peace,” it prayed.
Advisor Zhaleo Rio: The Advisor Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs, Zhaleo Rio IAS (Retd) also grieved over the demise of late Vikho-o Yhoshü.
Zhaleo stated that he had the privileged of working together with late Vikho-o as Deputy Speaker in the 13th House Nagaland Legislative Assembly from March 26, 2018 to July 22, 2019 and found him to be a true gentlemen and an amiable person of justice, extrovert and knowledgeable character in discharge of his constitutional duties which I immensely benefited under his stewardship.
In his death the State and the people of Nagaland has lost a good upcoming leader apart from the family members and the Angami Community, the vacuum so created which will be difficult to fill in. “In this hour of grief my heart goes to Zhalesoli and children including relatives and prays to God almighty to grant them comfort and solace at the earliest possible time. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” Zhaleo stated in his message.
Minister Kashiho Sangtam: Minister for Soil & Water Conservation and Geology & Mining, V. Kashiho Sangtam has expressed grief over the sad demise of late Vikho-o Yhoshü, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly and Kevilhou Rio, mother of Nagaland chief minister, Neiphiu Rio who passed away on December 30 and January 1 respectively.
Kashiho said passing away of two noble souls at the time of festive season was saddening though they have moved on to a better place for ever more.
Condoling the death of the speaker Kashiho described Late Yhoshü as a diligent leader and a politician and a soft spoken individual who dedicated his life for the betterment of Nagaland.
He said late Kevilhou Rio was kind and compassionate and of strong faith and as Godly mother she did many wonderful things for a great many people.
He conveyed his deep condolences to the members of the bereaved families and pray for eternal solace of the departed souls.
