1st KDTTA CUP concludes

Kohima, May 7 (MExN): The 1st KDTTA CUP held on May 5 and 6 organised by the Kohima District Table Tennis Association (for members only) was held at the Indoor T.T. Stadium, Kohima. This was informed in a press release issued by KDTTA general secretary Vitho Neikha.

The results are as follows:

State chess C’ship from May 17

Kohima, May 7 (MExN): The 11th state premier (State A) chess championship 2011 will be held from May 17-21 at Red Cross Society Conference Hall Kohima with Parliamentary Secretary for Industries & Commerce, Dr. KC Nihoshe as the chief guest. A press release issued by Lhokiye Yeputhomi, general secretary NCA stated 4 top players who represented Nagaland in 2010 at Haryana and 16 top players recently qualified for Nagaland state premier (State A) Championship to select four top players as per AICG pattern for Nagaland to participate at the 49th National Chess challenger 2011 at Aurangabad from 15-26 June. 1st match - Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School Dimapur Vs Bayavu Hill High School Kohima
RJHSS scored 95 runs in 18.5 overs (batting first).
Kohima could score 89 runs in allotted 20 overs
Result: RJHSS won by 6 runs
2nd match - Ram Janaki higher Secondary School Dimapur Vs Christian Model High School Wokha
Result - Christian Model High School won by 2 wickets

1st match - 2nd NAP Higher Secondary School Alichen Mokokchung Vs  St. Xavier’s School,
Jalukie Peren
Mokokchung won the toss and scored a massive 145/3 in 20 overs helped by a blistering 71 runs off 53 balls by Moasunep. Peren were all out for 66 runs in 16.2 overs
Result - 2nd NAP Higher Secondary School Alichen won by 80 runs
2nd match - Corner Stone School Zunheboto Vs St. Joseph School Tuensang
Tuensang won the toss and elected to bat. Peakato of Zunheboto ripped apart the Tuensang batting lineup claiming 7 wickets in 3.5 overs conceding only 7 runs. Tuensang managed just 55 runs. Zunnheboto scored the required runs in just 8.2 overs.
