Kohima, January 31 (MExN): The Mao Union Kohima (MUK) on Sunday expressed shock and grief at the demise of Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen Toy who passed away on January 28.
“Late Temjen was a person commanding respect and confidence of all ranks of the civil services and the public alike. He was a great administrator with special qualities of tact, energy, initiative and efficiency,” the MUK stated in its condolence message.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the Joint Committee for Prevention of Illegal Immigrants (JCPI) stated that, “Nagaland has lost one of its finest administrators, who was a true son of the soil with impeccable character and the brightest mind.”
It recalled the ‘timely intervention’ of the late CS which led to the formation of the Abishek Singh Committee which in turn led to the implementation of ILP in Dimapur and approval of RIIN report.
The JCPI and MUK extended their condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul would rest in peace.
