Kohima, December 16 (MExN): Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Neiba Kronu inaugurated Multi-Purpose Hall at Lekromi village under Pfütsero Sub- Division of Phek District on December 16.
Addressing the function, Kronu spoke on the importance of physical development through sports for a healthy society. He reiterated his commitment and determination to develop Pfütsero constituency into a model constituency in the state by creating infrastructure such as road connectivity, sports facilities, Agri-link roads to ease the burden of farmers and promotion of tourism. To this end, he called on the people for active participation in taking the constituency towards progress and development.
He also appreciated Lekromi village for extensive plantation of large cardamom and organic vegetables.
He informed the villagers about the “Fruit Trees for Wealth” project launched recently by the Entrepreneur Associates Nagaland and urged the people to make best use of fruit tree saplings which will be made available soon. Kronu also urged the people to utilize available village land for coffee plantation while sharing his view about the prospect and scope of coffee plantation in Nagaland. He also called upon the people to intensify its efforts towards bio-diversity conservation.
The programme was led by Kewete Mero, chairman Lekromi Village Council while Rev Khrotso Mero, executive secretary Chakhesang Baptist Church Council invoked God’s blessing. Kedulhinyi Mer, Head GB of the village proposed vote of thanks while Rev Dr Kedungulo Mero pronounced closing prayer.
