Dimapur, September 7 (MExN): The Muslim Council Dimapur (MCD) has condemned and expelled one person who allegedly made and circulated a controversial video that went viral on September 6.
“The views expressed in the video and the improper wording used have definitely hurt the sentiments of many and might affect the harmony prevailing in the peaceful society,” stated the MCD in a press release.
Although the ‘so-called YouTuber’ has issued an apology and left Nagaland after MCD members began searching for him, much damage has already been done, it added.
Accordingly, the MCD, along with its subsidiary, the Chümoukedima Town Muslim Union, has expelled the YouTuber identified as Kamal Uddin, a tailor by profession and a temporary resident of Ward No. 10, Chümoukedima, with immediate effect, the release said. Uddin is a permanent resident of Dhanbanda in Barpeta district of Assam.
He is being expelled from the Muslim Community of Nagaland with immediate effect, the MCD stated, further urging house owners not to rent rooms to him if he attempts to return to Nagaland.
The MCD is also concerned about the arrest of another suspect in Assam’s Dhing gang rape case from Nagaland on September 6 and has informed all community members to remain vigilant. If any suspected person arrives, they should be handed over to the Police or the Chairman or GB of the Colony or Council immediately, it added.
