MVD Wokha observes National Road Safety Week

Chumthungo Humtsoe along with others after the observance of the 31st National Road Safety Week from January 11 to 17.

 

Wokha, January 16 (MExN): Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Wokha observed the 31st National Road Safety Week from January 11 to 17 on the theme 'Bring change through youth power' on January 16.


To spread road safety and awareness, the Department led by Chumthungo Humtsoe, Assistant Road Safety Informant Inspector, Wokha distributed banners and pamphlets at Wokha Police point junction to all commuters and pedestrians.
A short programme on road safety and awareness was also conducted at ANTA Wokha unit office with Pickup Union and ANTA Wokha unit.


Humtsoe was the resource person on the awareness programme who informed the participants to follow traffic rules and refrain from using mobile phones while driving, and to avoid drinking alcohol stating that most of the accidents occurred in connection to human carelessness and negligence. He further highlighted on the new 2019 Motor Vehicle Acts related to fine and penalties.
