Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur organized a one-day social work with students of Class 8 and 11 to clean the surrounding areas of the school which was badly affected by the recent flood. The nullah passing by the school had made the surrounding unhealthy for the students and inhabitants of the locality as the flood water carried a huge mass of garbage, plastic bottles, thermocol etc making the area very filthy and unhygienic. The school has taken the initiative to clean up all waste and filling them in polythene bags which are to be picked up by the DMC Sanitation department on request by the school. This was stated by Aheto Sumi, Principal Christian Higher Secondary School. The school also appreciated the cooperation of the Assistant Director, Urban Malaria for sending his personnel to spray germicide as well as the I/C Sanitation DMC for assuring the school to pick up the collected waste for proper disposal and management.
