Naga Chef Season 6: Six contestants to cook ‘My Naga Thali’

Kohima, November 21 (MExN): At the end of the Round 3 of Naga Chef Season-6, six contestants have been made it into the Round-4 ‘My Naga Thali’, which will be held on November 22 at Macha Ki, Kohima.  

On Wednesday, seven contestants were judged through the Mystery Basket for their culinary talent by providing mystery items after which one was eliminated.  

Besides vying for business round to be held during the Hornbill Festival from December 1 to 9 at Kisama, presently the aspiring chefs are not only be competing on the authenticity, innovation, presentation and taste of their dishes but are also under Master Classes from Chef Joel Basumatry, Chef Alemjungla Jamir and Chef Rovi Chase.  

Kohima Exotic School of Cooking will conduct the master class for the contestants on Thursday, informed a press release issued by Media Coordinator, Naga Chef Season 6.  

The profile of the six remaining constants are:

Dennis Suohu: A native of Kohima, Dennis came to know about Naga Chef via Social Media and is excited to be part of it's 6th edition. Cooking is has always been a passion for Dennis, and Naga Chef Competition is not only be a platform for him to showcase his talent but also learn from people who are enterprising in this field. He thanks Synergy Group Enterprise and Tourism Department (GON) for this opportunity.  

Tokali Jakhalu: Cooking and singing have been her passion and being the 2nd eldest sibling in the family, she's always busy helping her mother in the kitchen which enhanced her passion for cooking. Being part of Naga Chef Season 6 is a wonderful experience and cooking for the culinary experts in the competition is an honour. She's really looking forward to the competition and wishes to open her dream Cafe or restaurant. She says, “The more you cook, the more you learn and the better you become. It's a life-long process, a never ending road."  

Lipok Longkumer aka Longkumer A Li: Cooking has been an integral part of Lipok's life since childhood and he is passionate about trying new indigenous recipes. Lipok also participated in Naga Idol Season 2 and was one of the Top 6 finalists. He enjoys reading and is a professional country singer.  

Disuang Sago Zeliang: Sago Disuang is working as an Executive Chef at Hotel Grand Tizu. Since childhood he has been passionate about cooking and has worked in Animal King Hotel, Chennai as an Assistant Chef and Belle Ciao, an Italian Restaurant. He specializes in Chinese cuisine but loves cooking Naga dishes too.  

Mhomo Ngullie: Mhomo is adventurous and fun who loves travelling and experience new places, cuisines and cultures. He believes that food can build bridges and connect people. He likes to experiment with new ingredients, flavours and methods of cooking. Participating in Naga Chef was in his bucket list and he’s fortunate to be part of it this year. His next wish list is to participate in a Food Eating Challenge. Any takers?  

Vikhuli Achumi: A hard working Mom of 3 amazing children, Vikhuli enjoys cooking for his family and guests too. Their complements motivate her to cook more but never has she imagined that she’d be part of a cooking contest. She’s excited to learn new cuisines from her fellow contestants as well as the judges of Naga Chef.
