Naga people can trust on the preamble signed with GoI: WC-NNPGs

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 9 (MExN): Virtually snubbing NSCN (IM)’s appeal to get on board the bus of the August 3, 2015 Framework Agreement (FA) and be a part of the final solution, the Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPGs) on Saturday said the FA was and will remain an “inferior political document now and in the future.”

In a press statement, Media Cell, WC-NNPGs stated that while it was a “good photo opportunity for NSCN (IM) leaders yet posterity will hold on to the content of both the August 3, 2015 FA and the ‘Agreed Position or Preamble’ signed between the Government of India and the NNPGs on November 17, 2017.”

It stated that Naga generations will treasure the document contents and not the photos while appealing all Naga groups to prepare themselves for unconditional unity.

The WC pointed out that it negotiated with the GoI on the principle and basis of 1929 Naga memorandum and 1951 Naga plebiscite. It asserted that the essence and spirit of Naga struggle shines through the Agreed Position document which it claimed will stand the test of time and tell the Naga people that their future is secured.

“NNPG makes its political stand clear to the Naga people that our people can trust on the preamble signed between GoI and NNPGs on 17th November 2017 to which our aspiration is clearly redefined in this historic document,” it stated.
While no nation on earth can say Nagas do not have unique history and situation, the WC however questioned if this recognition assures or guarantees our self determination. It said the FA of the NSCN (IM) “simply recognizes our past history.”

On the contrary, the WC claimed that the NNPGs stand for Naga unity without any condition and so it will not set any condition to any individual or group. It said Naga people have seen and heard enough of the slogan, “the door is open" which has instead scattered the Nagas more rather than regrouping in the past.

It also stated that the “greatest problem among the Naga political groups that has, time and again, thwarted genuine reconciliation and unity is the seemingly unending, unacceptable narrative of a single group and their obsessive desire to suppress the Naga people through the barrel of a gun and a propaganda machine that oscillates between sustained madness and irrational sense of nationalism.”

Asserting that the NNPGs is sincerely committed to sit across for an early Naga solution without any pre condition, the WC said this is the reason why all the 7 different political groups could come together as one Naga for one solution as it is the only ultimate for the bright future of the younger generation.

The WC also termed it a tragedy for the NSCN (IM) to issue a statement at this point of time asking all Naga groups to come and join under the Framework Agreement.
