Nagaland: 104 new COVID-19 cases detected

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 2 (MExN): 104 new COVID-19 cases were detected in Nagaland on August 2. Of the new cases, 62 are from Dimapur, 17 from Kohima, 5 from Wokha, 18 from Zunheboto and 1 each from Mon and Phek. 

The total number of cases in the State now stands at 1,935, of which 1,279 are active cases. 648 people have recovered while two cases have migrated. From the total number of cases, data from the Health Department informed that 946 are returnees, 692 from the armed forces, 139 frontline workers, 126 traced contacts, and 32 “others.” It was added that the “others” refer to cases related to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) and “patients excluding returnees.” 

The official death count stands at 4 according to government data. It was informed that one death is Covid-19 positive but not due to Covid-19 while another had co-morbidities and tested Covid-19 positive. The latter is currently under investigation. 

As per the severity of symptoms, 1,277 active cases are asymptomatic, 1 active case is mild and 1 active case is with oxygen.
