Dimapur, July 27 (MExN): Nagaland witnessed another surge in daily COVID-19 cases with 46 new infections from the virus on Monday.
While Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom updated on Twitter that “45 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 335 test results received,” the daily bulletin issued by the Health Department’s Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) indicated 46 new cases, out of which 1 case was confirmed by RdRp gene confirmatory assay via TrueNat.
The RdRP confirmed case however did not reflect in the state’s tally of active cases which stood at 811.
The other new cases included 23 from Kohima, 14 from Dimapur and 8 from Mon district. As per the severity of symptoms, 808 active cases are asymptomatic and 2 active cases are mild and 1 active case is moderate.
Meanwhile, 20 cases of recoveries were also shown in the IDSP bulletin.
With this, the status of total positive cases in the state now stands at 1385 with 569 recoveries as of July 27.
As per official data, the 5 deaths reported from Dimapur are yet to be established as due to COVID-19. It said that the cases are “under investigation for establishing whether they are COVID-19 related deaths.”
