Nagaland: Aspiring students advised to choose wisely

DIMAPUR, JUNE 1 (MExN):  With the declaration of the NBSE HSLC/HSSLC exam results, the India North East Tribal Community Welfare Society (INETCWS) has advised both students and parents on one side and the schools/colleges’ management on the other, not to panic but ensure smooth conduct during issue of mark sheets and admission process (offline mode) by adhering strictly to the guidelines of social distancing, use of masks, sanitizers etc.

The concerned authorities should come up with a practical and proper strategy for the re-opening so that teachers and students are not over burdened, a press release from the society said.

It further said that it would be sensible for those students desiring to study outside, to pursue further studies in Nagaland, maintaining that as per its survey, the quality of many institutions in the state are second to none when compared to neighboring states.

For all medical, engineering and other professional courses not available in the state, the society said it will be better to wait till lockdown is lifted completely to check all possible areas. Further, NEET/JEE aspirants were advised to prepare well as the exams are tentatively scheduled in the last week of July.

Meanwhile, the society cautioned that during admission season, many professional colleges or universities come to the state in the name of helping tribal students but often dupes students.

Besides asking the government departments to discourage such practice, it also advised students and parents to authenticate the current status of any institute before taking admission.

The INETCWS said that while its offices in Dimapur and Kohima are closed at present due to ongoing lockdown, any queries or assistance can be availed by calling 9612160086 or via Whatsapp @ 8974655409.
