Nagaland awarded best KVI Board

Dimapur, September 7 (MExN): The Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board was awarded with the National Award-2010 for Excellence in the field of Khadi & Village Industries as the best KVI Board, NE Zone (National) on August 31, 2010 at New Delhi. President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Patil as the Chief Guest of the function gave away some of the awards and trophies and also delivered her speech.

The awards were given in different categories like Khadi artisans like spinners, weavers, Khadi Institutions, Public Sector Banks, Khadi & V.I Boards ( Non NE Zone) National Level, NE Zone National Level, National Level Departmental Training Centre etc, etc

Union State Minister for M.S.M.E. Dinsha Patel also addressed the gathering and gave away the remaining awards after the departure of President of India. Kumud Joshi, the Chairperson of Khadi & Village Industries Commission also addressed the gathering.

On behalf of the State of Nagaland, the Chairman of NKVIB, Dr. N. Nicky Kire received the award for Excellence in the field of Khadi & Village Industries Board as the Best KVI Board, NE Zone (National Award – 2010). Besides, under the Khadi Institution (NE Zone), Nagaland Khadi, V. I. Sangh was also awarded the best Institution under NE Zone and the award was received by the Chairman, Jack Angami.
