Kohima, September 4 (MExN): Nagaland BJP president Benjamin Yepthomi on Friday termed the passage of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) Bill, 2026, as a historic milestone that translates the long-pending aspirations of Eastern Nagaland into statutory recognition.
The Bill, passed in Parliament on September 3, paves the way for a new territorial authority, marking a significant administrative and political development for the state.
Yepthomi noted that the outcome follows sustained efforts by the Eastern Nagaland Peoples' Organisation (ENPO) and legislators from the region, and now places a greater onus on all stakeholders to work towards meaningful reforms and inclusive development. ”The new chapter brings responsibility to embrace change and collectively strive for progress and a brighter future,” he said in a statement, adding that the move is an opportunity to build a better tomorrow.
