Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio’s mother passes away

Late Kevilhouü Rio, wife of late Goulhoulie Rio and mother of Nagaland’s Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was laid to rest today at Rio’s Family Cemetery, Botsa. 92 years Kevilhouü passed away on January 1 at 7:45 PM at Oking Hospital Kohima after prolonged illness.

 


Thousands of people paid respect to her at the funeral service held at Late Kevilhouü Rio Auditorium, G Rio School, Kohima.

 


Speaking at the funeral service, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said that her mother lived a very simple and prayerful life, adding that she was never selfish, greedy and she always lived for others.

 


Rio maintained that in their family there was no space for quarrel, adding that there exist complete mind of harmony wherein they love another with all sincerity.

 


Describing her as a loving mother, he said that she always showed concern for the poor and needy people.

 


Representatives from Tuophemia Dzevi Krotho Kohima, Union Baptist Church Kohima, Tuolelie Dzüvichü, head GB Keziekie Colony, Phrenyümo Seyie, advisor Tuophema Village Council, Thejangunuo Theünuo, Thejavituo Rio and Metemsola Longchari also spoke at the funeral service.

 


The funeral service was officiated by Rev. Rudilhou Rio, pastor Baptist Church Botsa while Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo, pastor Union Baptist Church Kohima led the service.
