  • 456 samples test negative, 81 results awaited

KOHIMA, APRIL 21 (MExN): 456 samples from Nagaland have tested negative for COVID-19 as of 3:00pm April 21. 
A total of 456 samples have been sent from the State for testing, including 103 samples which were sent today. Results for 81 are awaited. 


Home Commissioner, Abhijit Sinha, addressing the Government’s daily briefing today meanwhile also provided an update on the activities conducted in the containment zone of Marwari Patti and Murgi Patti in Dimapur in connection with the COVID-19 positive patient from Dimapur detected in Guwahati.


He informed that the surveillance teams have visited and screened 2,347 persons covering 353 households as of April 20. Altogether, 281 samples of persons in Dimapur, connected with the positive case, have been tested from April 12 to 20 in Dimapur, of which all have come back negative.


The Home Commissioner further stated that from April 20 onwards, select additional activities have been allowed during the lockdown in the State, like construction of roads, irrigation projects, renewable energy projects and other kinds of construction projects. 


“However, it should be noted that in all the cases, arrangements should be in place to ensure social distancing and all the necessary health safety protocols should be followed. Further the services of the workers available at the site only should be used, and no worker should be brought from outside,” he added.   


Sinha further urged all people to mandatorily wear a face cover in all public places and completely refrain from spitting in any public place.
