728 samples test negative, results for 58 awaited

 

KOHIMA, MAY 7 (MExN): A total of 786 samples have been sent for COVID-19 testing in Nagaland, of which 728 have tested negative. Results for 58 samples are awaited. 


Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha meanwhile informed that 17,439 persons from Nagaland stranded, or in distress outside the state, have been assisted through financial grants in their bank accounts. This includes 13,159 working people, 4,112 students and 168 patients. 


He further informed that 17 persons were bound down for violation of lockdown rules. 


Meanwhile, shops for food grains, groceries, milk and medicine were opened in all the districts except Wokha. 


The Principal Secretary added that suitable arrangements have been made for providing food & shelter to migrant workers affected by the COVID-19 restrictions. There are presently 4 active relief camps where 355 migrant labourers are housed. 5 active food camps have also been set up.
