Dimapur, December 11 (MExN): Marking the Human Rights Day 2019, the District Legal Service Authority in all respective districts organized various programme. 


Dimapur DLSA participated in Human Rights Day celebration at Government High School Sarbura, Dimapur and St John College, Dimapur with the students. Sangto Longchar, Project Assistant, Dimapur DLSA delivered a talk on Human Rights and Temjensoba, Panel Lawyer, Dimapur DLSA spoke on the topic "Human Rights Institution in India" in a one day training programme on Human Rights organised by St John College Dimapur, sponsored by National Human Right Commission, India. 


Peren District Legal Services Authority observed human rights day on December 10 at Jalukie town by distributing pamphlets to Zeme Olympic goers.


Phek DLSA observed the Human Rights Day with school students of Government High School, Phek Village. Mamang Singson, Retainer Lawyer, Phek DLSA spoke on the significance of the day whereas Vethothi vero, PA, Phek DLSA spoke on POCSO Act 2012. All together 46 students including the LLC members attended the programme.


Longleng DLSA observed Human Rights Day on December 10 at Lingtak village. Shingngai Para Legal Volunteer chaired the programme. Hamnyei Angh Project Assistant, Longleng DLSA spoke on Human Rights and Mane Phom Retainer Lawyer delivered on the issues and violation of human rights. The Vote of thanks was delivered by P Monyei Phom, Panel Lawyer.


Mokokchung DLSA observed International Human Rights Day with the students of Government High School Dilong at the school premises. District Project Assistant Mapujungla Pongen, Panel Lawyer Purnungsang Jamir and PLV Pangjungmanen were the representatives from MDLSA. Project Assistant Mapujungla Pongen explained the objectives of human rights day and called the students to promote awareness on Human Rights to the Citizen who are not aware and also encouraged the students to stand up for human rights especially to the vulnerable group of people like women, minorities, youths, poor, disabled person, and indigenous people. The programme was chaired by Panel Lawyer Purnungsang Jamir. All together 38 students participated in the programme.


Wokha District Legal Services Authority observed Human Rights Day with the rest of the World on December 10. Khrievono Seletsu, Judicial Magistrate First Class cum Secretary Wokha DLSA was the theme speaker. She Spoke on Human Rights, Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Gender Equality. A painting competition in support towards the 16 days Activism on gender based violence against women and human rights was also conducted. 


To mark the observance of International Human Rights Day, talk on the topic “Human Rights” was held at Government Hr Sec School, Zunheboto with the students of higher secondary students. Easter H Yepthomi Retainer Lawyer Zunheboto DLSA spoke about the significance of the day and Human Rights in India.


Kohima District Legal Services Authority observed the Human Rights Day at Government High School, Tseminyu by organizing a legal awareness programme.
