Dimapur | July 15
Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton and other legislators who recently came in contact with a COVID-19 positive person in Delhi, will quarantine themselves at Government quarantine centre upon their arrival from New Delhi, an official release informed today.
Patton and four other State legislators took COVID-19 tests on July 14 after a driver assigned to one of them test positive for the virus on July 13.
The results of the tests returned negative on July 15.
“Although initial tests and subsequent TrueNat tests proved negative, they will quarantine themselves following all SOPs and other official guidelines at Government quarantine centre,” a press release from Media Cell, Dy.CMO informed today.
It added that they will “arrive in Dimapur soon” without giving further details.
“The Dy CM and some state legislators had gone to Delhi to meet with some Central leaders when two legislators came in contact with the driver that tested positive later on,” it added.
Meanwhile, the release further dispelled rumours that some legislators have tested positive for COVID-19.
Quoting an official attached to Dy CMO, it informed that “all the legislators test results turn out to be negative” and further asked “the people not to create confusion.”
