Nagaland Fire & Emergency Service holds mock drill

The Nagaland Fire & Emergency Service today held a mock drill at public ground which was attended by students from private schools, leaders, ward members shopkeepers and well-wishers on November 28.  

Speaking at the programme, Sub-Inspector of Nagaland Fire & Emergency Service Kiphire Kevizehou Chupuo said that with the coming of dry season everyone should know fire safety techniques and measures. “Everyone should know how to handle fire extinguisher as it will save lot of lives,” he said. He also added that the day’s programme is to sensitise the citizens on how to prepare oneself in times of disaster and other natural calamities.  

Assistant Sub Inspector, Vikhato who also addressed the gathering before demonstrating the techniques said that fire incidents are classified as type A, B, C, and D. He also said that in last fourteen years, the country alone has lost more than 3 lakh people due to fire disaster. He shared on the prevention and measures of fire safety.  

Later, the department demonstrated the techniques of rescue in times of disaster.
