Nagaland Governor, CM & others extend Diwali greetings

Kohima, October 26 (MExN): Nagaland Governor, Chief Minister and others today have extended Diwali greetings to the people of Nagaland. 


Governor, RN Ravi extended warm greetings on the occasion of Diwali, to the people of Nagaland. A press release from PRO to Governor stated that Diwali represents the victory of light over darkness. The Governor hoped and prayed that God will inspire all to move towards peace, progress, development and brotherhood. 


Governor Ravi also appealed all for a pollution-free Diwali celebration and wished a joyous and prosperous life to the people of the State.


Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio took to Twitter to send his greetings. “Wishing everyone celebrating a #HappyDiwali. May the #FestivalofLights bring renewed hope, brighten up your lives and homes. #Deepavali #HappyDiwali2019,” Rio tweeted in his official twitter account. 


Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader, Y Patton in a separate release extended greetings to the people of Nagaland. On the occasion, Patton implored upon each and everyone to uphold its true spirit and “defeat all the negativities in our lives to bring about social harmony.” The Deputy Chief Minister along with the state BJP legislators extended a joyous and happy Diwali.


Advisor to Power department, H Tovihoto Ayemi also extended warm greetings to the Hindu community of Dimapur on the occasion. “As Diwali festival also symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, may this light enable us to commit to doing more of good deeds and continue living with peace and harmony,” the message stated, adding “may the divine light of Diwali spread into our lives and the society with joy, laughter and good health.”


NPF Minority Wing also extended hearty greetings and best wishes to the citizens of Nagaland and neighbouring area on the occasion. In a greetings issued by President, NPF Minority Wing Central, Bishnu Bhattacharjee stated that such kind of festival “is to share happiness amongst all and strengthen brotherhood relationship in the State with traditional fervour and gaiety.”
