The Nagaland State Government on Thursday issued travel advisory for commuters in view of the prevailing situation, particularly in Assam, over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019 and has established help-lines for any Nagaland-bound passenger stranded in Assam.

In view of the CAB related agitation, people from Nagaland are advised to avoid travelling through Assam for the time being, stated an advisory issued by Abhijit Sinha, IAS, Home Commissioner.

Further, the advisory informed that the Home Department has designated certain officials to assist “any Nagaland bound passenger who is stranded in Guwahati at the Railway Station/bus terminus or other parts of Assam" due to the ongoing CAB stir. The Deputy Commissioner/Police in Mokokchung, Mon Longleng and Dimapur have also issued similar advisories.

Nagaland-bound passenger may contact the designated officials for any assistance or information (see table).

Meanwhile, the Dimapur Police has set up a Joint Control Room today at Commissioner of Police Office for assistance. It will be headed by Naieem Mustafa, IPS, DCP Zone-I. The Joint Control Room can be contacted at 7085055050 for any related queries.
