Distribution of photo voters slip for Pughoboto
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Pughoboto has issued a circular in pursuance to the Election Commission of India directives and the Election Department letter No. ELE/CDT-191/2014/1675/Dated Kohima the 31st March 2014 that all the BLOs shall distribute the photo Voters Slip latest by 3rd April 2014. All the BLOs are also directed to prepare a list of photo Voter Slip left undistributed on completion of the above mentioned distribution process, containing serial number and name of the voters and get it authenticated by the ARO and to use this list on the day of poll. The undistributed Photo Voter Slip along with the alphabetical voter list shall be kept at the facilitation desk to be manned by the concerned BLO outside their respective polling station on the day of poll.

Central election expenditure observer arrived Tuensang
Central Election Expenditure Observer Ramakrishnan IRS arrive Tuensang on 2nd April 2014 and had a consultative meeting with the election expenditure observers team Tuensang at Deputy Commissioner Bungalow. The meeting was attended by Election Expenditure Monitoring Cell, Assistant Expenditure Observer, Accounting team, District Complaint Monitoring Cell, Video surveillance Team, Video Viewing team, Static Surveillance Team, Flying Squad and model of conduct monitoring cell. The meeting reviewed the election duty and the conduct starting from 26th of March till date. The Central observer also encouraged all the team members to work with vigil and with intelligence to avoid the misconduct of the election. And he also told the team members to check on the violation of the IPC during election. After the meeting was over Deputy Commissioner/District election Officer of Tuensang reviewed the Randomization.

Expenditure observer visits Longleng
Election Commission of India Expenditure Observer Ramakrishnan visit Longleng on 3rd April 2014 and held a meeting with different committees constituted related for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election 2014 at DC’s Conference Hall, Longleng.

Election training schedule for Wokha
The Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Returning Officer, Wokha Vyasan R. has informed all persons on election duty for Parliamentary Election 2014 may collect and submit Form 12 A at DCs Office, Wokha by submitting photocopy of election duty appointment order.

All polling Officers and Sector Magistrates are also informed that hands-on training for EVM will be carried out between 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. everyday, with effect from 2nd April 2014 onwards, at DC’s Conference Hall, Wokha. The 3rd round of training for Presiding officers and 1st Polling Officers shall be held on 4th April 2014 at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Wokha, while the 3rd round of training for 2nd Polling Officers and 3rd Polling Officers shall be held on 5th April 2014 at GHSS Wokha. All Polling Officers are directed to bring their passport size Photographs and submit to their respective Presiding Officers for ID card on the day of dispatch.

Awareness prog on SVEEP at Tseminyu
The Kohima District Core Committee for SVEEP Campaign in collaboration with the Department of Information & Public Relations conducted awareness programme on Systematic Voter Education on Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign at Town Hall, Tseminyu on 2nd April 2014 with ADC Tseminyu, Vikhweno M. Meratsu as the main speaker. The SVEEP Audio Visual Mobile Publicity Van is a part of the SVEEP activities being carried out by the Kohima District Core Committee for SVEEP Campaign.

Speaking at the function the ADC called upon the gathering to adopt the method of clean elections by adhering to the policy of ‘one man one vote’. She highlighted on the importance of EPIC which is applicable not only for exercising our vote but also for future identification of an individual. She asked all the people who have attained the age of 18 years of age to exercise their adult franchise with conviction in order to elect good leader for our society. During election, we tend to be aggressive and sometimes we even go to the extent of quarrelling and fighting because we did not allow individuals to cast their votes. Hence to avoid such situation, duplication of registration in electoral list has to be stopped, she added.

Pamphlets and various materials related to SVEEP campaign were distributed and videos of ‘My Vote is Precious’ and ‘My Vote makes my future’ was also presented by the department of IPR. The programme was chaired by APRO, IPR, Ketarumakbo Zeliang while Senior Pastor, TTBC invoked God’s blessing. Vote of thanks was proposed by SDO (C) Tseminyu, Renbeni Ngullie.

SVEEP campaign at Chiephobozou
The SVEEP Audio Visual Mobile Publicity Van will visit Chiephobozou sub-division on 5th April 2014 where an awareness programme on Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation will be held at the DB’s Court, Chiephobozou. ADC, Chiephobozou, Bodeno S. Colo will give a speech on the SVEEP Campaign while EAC, Botsa, Vekuto Vero will give a short briefing on free and fair polls. The programme will be chaired by Information Assistant, IPR Department, Mhathung Ngullie who will also give an introduction of the Audio Visual Mobile Publicity Unit. Vote of thanks will be delivered by Information Assistant, IPR Department, Watimenla. Other highlights include screening of the videos ‘My Vote is Precious’ and ‘My Vote makes my future’, distribution of SVEEP Pamphlets etc.

Flying squads team on service to check malpractices
In a bid to conduct the ensuing Lok Sabha Election in a fair and free manner and to check any person engaged in threat/intimidation of electors as well as indulging in bribery to induce voters to exercise their electoral right, flying squads have been formed and put on service round the clock in three Towns of Mokokchung District: Mokokchung, Mangkolemba and Tuli. District Electoral officer, Mokokchung has informed all the citizens to refrain from taking any bribe. In case, anybody offers bribe or is having any knowledge about the bribe or cases of threat or intimidation should inform to the District Complaint Monitoring Cell. As per Section 171 B of IPC, any person giving or receiving any gratification in cash or kind during election to induce voters is punishable with imprisonment up to one year or with fine or both. Further as per section 171 C of IPC, any person who threatens any candidate or electors is also punishable.

Slogan writing competition
The DEO & DC, Dimapur is organizing a slogan writing competition on the following Theme “Ethical/Inducement Free Voting” as part of the Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP). All college students from Dimapur District are eligible to participate in the competition. Prizes for the competition are as follows 1st Prize Rs 5000, 2nd Prize Rs 3000 & 3rd Prize Rs 2000. Any interested participants can submit their entries in a chart paper to the office of the ADC (HQ) & Nodal Officer, SVEEP, Dimapur on or before 6th April 2014.

Phek DPDB meeting cancelled
The Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Phek, C.M. Tsanglao, IAS has informed all the DPDB members of Phek District that the District Planning & Development Board meeting for the month of April 2014 is cancelled in view of pre-occupation of officials in the election related works for the ensuing Lok Sabha election.
 

Randomization of Polling Personnel for Longleng 

Longleng, April 3 (MExN): All concern Polling Personnel (Presiding Officer, 1st Pollin g Officer, 2nd Polling Station, 3rd Polling Officer and Grade- IV staffs) are informed that the 2nd Randomization of Polling Personnel (Group Formation) for Longleng district has been completed in the presence of General Observer to the Nagaland Lok Sabha Election 2014 and Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Longleng. The Notification is pasted in the Notice Board of Election Office, DC office Complex (Top floor) for the convenience of all the concern.

Therefore, all concerns are hereby directed to make note of the group formation and get familiarized their groups for polling duties. The appointment letter of the polling personnel may be collected from the undersigned office during the office hours. Further, it is notified to all Polling Personnel drafted for election duties that the Master Trainers will be available in the office chamber of SDO(C) HQ for any kind of queries and clarification.
