Nagaland Matru Vandanah Saptah 2019 felicitation held

Kohima, December 11 (MExN): Nagaland along with the rest of the Nation observed the Matru Vandana Saptah (MVS) 2019 from December 2 to 8 under the theme, “Towards building a healthy nation- Surakshit Janani, Viksit Dharani.”

Multiple activities were conducted at all levels in each district with the objective to enhance awareness of the scheme, address delays in release of installments and liquidation of correction queue and to acknowledge and felicitate exemplary performance.

The State culmination program cum felicitation program was held at Hotel Ura on December 9. K Atoli Sema, Director, Social Welfare Department graced the occasion and encouraged the participants to take the scheme further.

The programme was chaired by Neingusalie, Assistant Director, Social Welfare Department while keynote address was given by Michael Zaren, Jt director and State Nodal, PMMVY, Nagaland.

In his address, he shared that the department was exploring and planning various efforts to solve the issues hampering the progress of the scheme, one of them being the bank account issue for which the department will be partnering with IPPB in Kohima as a pilot initiative.

A short speech was delivered by Dr Longri from Health and Family Welfare Department. The occasion was graced with a song from Agatha. Short videos on PMMVY were also screened as part of the programme. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Adi Nakhro, SPC PMMVY, Nagaland.

The best performing PMMVY District Team for the year 2019 was awarded to Tuensang District PMMVY team and Kohima PMMVY as the second-best performing team. So far 15,100 mothers have benefitted under the scheme in the State.
