Kohima, September 27 (MExN): As directed by Chief Minister, Home Department and Commissioner of Nagaland have been requested to take all necessary actions with regard to the mass social work that will commence on September 29 and conclude on October 2 with an objective to restore the damages caused due to the recent rains and landslides.
A communiqué from the Chief Minister’s Office has stated that directives are be issued to all the Deputy Commissioners who will coordinate the work by involving all administrative officers along with officers of other line departments.
Social work will be undertaken by involving of elected members, Police, Ward/Colonies of Town, Civil Societies, contractors and tribal bodies. Iy will be led by Chief Minister in Kohima. Funds for the Social Work will be provided through the Chief Minster's Relief Fund. Adequate publicity for the Social Work has to be ensured through Media, Radio, TV to ensure active participation of citizens also.
After the social work removal of the debris to the dumping sites will be under taken by trucks/vehicles of various Departments and contractors who voluntarily offer their services. Manual labour for the purpose will be hired by respective Municipal Councils for which the concerned Administrators will be personally responsible. Deputy Commissioner should also work out a plan along with the ADCs/SDO (Civil) and EACs who will allocate specific locations in the towns and districts where the work will be taken up. For each locations responsibility should be assigned to individual officers in order to make social work success. “All efforts should be made by all concerned to ensure that we are able to reclaim and rebuild the State,” the press release added.
