APO reiterates detachment with Naga Hoho

Kohima, September 11 (MExN): The Angami Public Organisation (APO) has reiterated its earlier stand of “detachment with the Naga Hoho till today.” APO President Dr. Kepelhusie Terhüja and Information and Publicity Secretary Neithono Sothu in a press release stated that APO in its Executive Council meeting held last year on July 12, 2017 decided to cease working under the present President of the Naga Hoho. The APO further clarified that “it has nothing to do with the threats spelled out by the Naga Hoho since the APO is no longer a constituent member of the Hoho.”  

NSCN (IM) bans anti-social activities

Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Ministry of Kilo Affairs has directed through a press release that "night club, gambling and any anti-social activities in and around Dimapur is banned with immediate effect." The MIP in the press release stated that any defaulter of the directive shall be sternly dealt with without any further warning.  

SVWD elect new office bearers

Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): The Satoi Village Welfare Dimapur (SVWD) has elected new office bearers for the tenure 2018-2020 during its general meeting held on September 8 at Union banker residence. SVWD Chairman Lhosheto Aye informed in a press release the members of the new team includes: Lhosheto Ayemi Chairman, Shikheto Awomi Vice Chairman, Bovito Aye General Secretary, Ghovishe Aye Assistant Secretary, Vikugha Aye Finance Secretary, Putoka Tuccu Assistant Finance Secretary, Zhevihe Aye Cultural Secretary, Toshevi Aye Information Secretary, Kiyevi Aye Banker; Advisors: Zhevito Aye, Rielo Aye, Khekishe Aye.  

Prison Sunday Gospel Service observed at Kohima dist jail

Kohima, September 11 (MExN): In accordance with the approval of DGP (Prison) Nagaland, to observe the second Sunday of September every year as a day of prayer and fasting for the inmates of Nagaland Jails, NCRC Prison Ministry observed Prison Sunday Gospel Service with the inmates of District jail Kohima on September 9. President, NCRC Prison Ministry, Thepfuzolie Metha in a press release stated that Daniel Lohe, Associate Pastor, CRC AG Road & Vice Chairman, Kohima town CRC Sub-Council was the speaker. The Pastor shared the word of God from the book of John based on the healing at the pool. In conclusion, Pastor Daniel encouraged the jail inmates to repent from their sin and draw near to Jesus so that they would lead a peaceful life. The Pastor concluded with a special prayer for the Jail inmates.  

‘Theology must embrace ethical response towards HIV/AIDS’

Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): The Legislators’ Forum on AIDS organised an HIV/AIDS advocacy programme at United College of Theology and Mission (UCTM), Dimapur on September 3. During the programme, Dr. Vinito L. Chishi highlighted on the importance of Christian & Church leaders’ involvement and participation in HIV/AIDS issues and concern in our State. A press release from Dr. Vinito stated that during his presentation, he emphasised that theology must embrace ethical response towards HIV/AIDS infected and affected people and consider them like any other diseases without discrimination. He encouraged the students and faculty members of the college to set an example for others by being an agent of change in HIV/AIDS response. Other resource person, Hukatoli from LFA also spoke on social concern and responsibility of an individual. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr. Ashong Serto (Principal, UCTM) and closing prayer was pronounced by Temsulemla (Academic Dean).  

MCC observes Cultural & Literary Day

Kohima, September 11 (MExN): Model Christian College observed its Cultural and Literary Day on September 6 and 7. Guest speaker Pheluopfhelie Kesiezie, Administrator, Northfield School, Kohima mentioned that Nagas should embrace our unique and distinctive cultural differences and make it an asset for the people of Nagaland.He further stressed that the younger generation should take up the role of modifying the wrong culture in the present society by replacing it with good culture. The Cultural items were folk dance, folk songs, attire show and a play titled ‘The Confused Naga’, while spoken poetry, story-telling, extempore speech, impersonation were literary highlights which were conducted to hone written and spoken expression. A debate competition was also conducted under the topic, ‘Is Nagaland a secular state?’.  

Physical verification for pensioner under Dimapur treasury from Oct 15

Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): The Senior Treasury Officer, Dimapur, Khekaho Aye has informed all the pensioners drawing monthly salary under Senior Treasury office Dimapur that Physical verification for the year 2018 would start from October 15 onward. STO Dimapur has further informed that in order to avoid normal departmental transaction business and to meet the convenience of every pensioner, a schedule date for verification is prepared according to the pensioner’s serial number. Therefore, in this regards all the pensioners are informed to bring personal copy of PPO Book and attend verification on the appointed date without fail. Further pensioners are reminded that, there will be no further verification for the year 2018. “Failure to attend physical verification the pension case shall be considered as closed and submit to AG Nagaland right after completion of verification,” stated a DIPR report.
