PAC-NCD withdraws proposed bandh
Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC), Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has withdrawn the proposed bandh to be held on November 30 in view of the arrest of the culprits involved in the Riven Honda shooting and the Aoyim Baptist Church extortion case. PAC-NCD in a press release expressed appreciation to the Dimapur police for timely arrest of the culprits. Meanwhile appealing to the Judiciary to punish the culprits as per the law and not granting bail, the PAC-NCD has appealed to every citizen to stay alert and report to the police in case of any criminal activities, in order to maintain peace harmony at this festive season in our district.
4th E-Naga summit
Kohima, Novermber 28 (MExN): The Department of Information Technology & Communication, Government of Nagaland will be organizing the 4th Edition of the e-Naga Summit on November 30, 9:00 am at NBCC Convention Centre, Kohima. The summit will be held under the theme "Building IT Infrastructure to make the State of Nagaland the next IT hub in South East Asia" and deal with topics on e-Governance, Artificial Intelligence, Smart Cities, Digital India, Cyber Security etc. The resource persons include experts from Estonia and Finland.
KMC informs on local taxis & buses
Kohima, November 28 (MExN): Administrator, KMC Kovi Meyase has informed all concerned that parking of local taxis and NST Buses shall be shifted to the Old Assembly Secretariat area w.e.f. December 10. All concerned have been requested to note the above for compliance.
DCCI issues directive
Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): In view of the upcoming festive season and as per the directives of the District Administration and State Government, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has directed all the shops including Pan Shops in Dimapur town to put up decorations by December 5. The DCCI will judge the best decorated shops, category wise and will be awarded with citation and prize. It has therefore appealed the business community to co-operate and bring out the city to its best.
Naga Club Centenary Monolith set on pedestal
Kohima, November 28 (MExN): The Naga Club Centenary Monolith has reached its sacred ground and set on the pedestal on November 26. In this regard, Naga Club in a press release expressed gratitude to the people of Jotsoma Village and all concerned Naga people in general for ensuring secure and congenial atmosphere for a peaceful and successful Centenary Celebration of Naga Club to be held on November 29, which will be one of the greatest landmarks in the history of the Naga people, added the release. DUCCF acknowledges Dimapur Police
Dimapur, November 28 (MExN): Dimapur Urban Council Chairman Federation (DUCCF) has acknowledged the Dimapur Police for arresting the three persons in connection with the firing incident at Riven Honda showroom, River belt colony Dimapur on November 20 and also for arresting Kughato Swu on charges of extorting from the church construction site. In a press release from Media Cell, DUCCF stated that it was high time for respective communities to rein in the ‘parasitic elements within one's tribe and community.’ “Dimapur cannot be left at the peril of some anti-social gangs to be exploited and suppressed,” added the Federation and further assured support to PAC of the Naga Council Dimapur in the fight against extortionists and anti-social elements in Dimapur.
