DC Kohima notifies on road widening
Kohima, October 17 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has notified for general information on the land measuring 270 sq m/2906 sq ft only at Kezieke (NH-61), Kohima town, Kohima District for road widening. In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 9 (2) of the Nagaland Land Requisition Act 1884, Deputy Commissioner Kohima has been duly authorized by the state government as competent authority. In this regard, the DC stated that if any person or party has any claim and objection over the said area, the same may be submitted to DC Office within a period of 30 (thirty) days with effect from the date of the notification as per schedule given: North - Mhalelie's plot, South - Zeneizo's plot, East - NH-61, West - Vilazolie's plot/ Vilabeinuo's plot.
NSF consultative meet on Oct 22
Kohima, October 17 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) today in its emergency executive council meeting decided to call upon a consultative meeting with the senior members of NSF at the NSF HQ Kohima on October 22, 2:00 pm. As per a press release from the federation, it informed that the meeting will discuss on the ongoing Indo-Naga political dialogue vis-à-vis peace process. The NSF has requested all the senior members to attend the same.
Dimapur police apprehends extortionist
Dimapur, October 17 (MExN): Dimapur police apprehended one extortionist Gias Uddin of Agartala, Tripura, presently residing at Ghorapatti, Dimapur on October 16. As per a press release from Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur, 20 numbers of work permit slips of NSCN/GPRN were recovered from his possession. A case has been registered at West Police Station Dimapur.
AR apprehends NSCN (IM) cadre
Dimapur, October 17 (MExN): As part of the ongoing crackdown by Assam Rifles on insurgent groups, a cadre of NSCN (IM) was apprehended in Piphema Town, Dimapur on October 14. Based on specific information regarding presence of Leacy Macha Angami of NSCN (IM) in general area, Piphema town, troops of Assam Rifles launched a search operation and apprehended the cadre. Aged 55 years and resident of Piphema town, Dimapur, a press release stated one point 32 mm Pistol with ammunition and other materials was recovered from the individual. The apprehendee along with recovered items was handed over to Medziphema Police Station for further investigation.
NPCC PAC meeting
Dimapur, October 17 (MExN): The President NPCC (Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee) has convened a meeting of Political Affairs Committee (PAC) on October 21, 11:00 am at Dimapur residential office of Dr SC Jamir. A meeting notice issued by GK Zhimomi has requested all PAC members to attend the meeting without fail.
1st Committee of Privilege meeting
Kohima, October 17 (MExN): Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor and Chairman, Committee of Privileges has fixed its first meeting on October 28, 12:00 noon in the Committee Room of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat. All members of the Committee of Privilege (2019-2020) are requested to make it convenient to attend the meeting positively.
