57th statehood day
Kohima, November 29 (MExN): The 57th Nagaland statehood day celebration will take place on December 1 at Kohima Local Ground at 8:30 am. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will grace the occasion. Among others, the occasion will be marked by release of Nagaland Police uniform code, release of the book entitled “Winning The Lost Battle” and award of Gordon Graham Prize for Naga Literature.
JAF meet today
Kohima, November 29 (MExN):The coordinating body of the Joint Associations Forum (JAF) has convened an emergency meeting of all the office bearers and action committee members from all the four associations on November 30 at the Conference Hall of CANSSEA at 1:00 pm. All concerned members are directed to attend the meeting without fail.
SBI Kohima to donate dumper truck to KMC
Kohima, November 29 (MExN): The State Bank of India (SBI) Kohima branch will be donating dumper truck to Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) on November 30, 2:00 pm at The Heritage, Kohima. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will be the special guest while Chief Secretary Temjen Toy and Sunil Kumar Tandon, chief general manager, SBI North Eastern Circle, Guwahati will be the guest of honor.
CTAN appeals for cooperation
Dimapur, November 29 (MExN): The Civil Engineers Association of Nagaland (CEAN) has reminded all its members and non members to restrain from filling the NPWD forms. Media Cell, CEAN in a press release further reminded those who have collected the forms not to submit, and those who have submitted to withdraw their candidature. The Association further requested all concerned to cooperate and be patient till its demand is met “for transparency, opportunity and equality in public employment.”
Ex-PAN adopts resolutions
Kohima, November 29 (MExN): The Ex-Parliamentarian’s Association Nagaland (Ex-PAN) held its executive meeting on November 21 and adopted resolutions. As per a press release from Ex-PAN, it resolved that the annual membership of Rs 1000 will be collected by the District Representatives at one go for one tenure (for example, for three years will be Rs 3000) and the one-time registration fees of Ex-PAN Members will be Rs 5000. The Ex-PAN also appealed to all its members and families to be in touch with the office for any help pending in regard to their pension paper work. The House expressed gratitude to Chief Minister, Speaker and the Members of Nagaland Legislative Assembly for bringing together Ex-PAN as a family in the recently proposed Parliamentarians and Ex-Parliamentarians Welfare Association of Nagaland. The house further resolved to appeal to all Naga national workers to come together for early solution of the Naga problems as per the aspiration of the Nagas in general.
Multi media exhibition
Kohima, November 29 (MExN): The Regional Outreach Bureau, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Kohima will be organizing Multi Media Exhibition in commemoration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at World War II Museum campus, Kisama on December 1. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will grace the inaugural function as the special guest.
Launch of Kohima Wifi city phase-1
Kohima, November 29 (MExN): Kohima Wifi city phase-1 will be launched on November 30, 11:00 am at RCEMPA, Jotsoma. It will be launched by Dr Neikiesalie Kire, advisor urban development & municipal affairs. Mmhonlumo Kikon, advisor, IT&C, NRE and Science & Technology will also speak on the occasion. The function will be chaired by Kovi Meyase, CEO, Kohima Smart City Development Limited. A press release informed that the launch was a combined launch symbolizing the collaborative effort of IT&C and KSCDL.
TTSU finds officers absent during surprise check
Mon, November 29 (MExN): Tobu Town Students Union (TTSU) conducted a surprise checking in all Government office establishments under Tobu headquarters. During the inspection it was found that most of the Head of Departments (HODs) and Ministerial staff posted at Tobu were absent, with some not having a single day attendance throughout the year. In this regard, the Union in a press release directed all the government officers and staff posted at Tobu HQ to be regular in performing its duties diligently as desired by the public. The union also prodded the officers and staff “whether they are taking advantage of being posted at a remote sub-division.” It cautioned that it will be compelled to lock the office if the “same negligence” was repeated again starting from January 2020.
KDA completes eviction drive
Kohima, November 29 (MExN): The Kohima District Administration (KDA) completed the eviction drive along the National Highway 29 on November 27. The eviction drive which started on November 26 was carried out with the aim to facilitate free movement of vehicles and pedestrians under Kohima town. During the drive, all building materials and debris dumped on the roadside and water pipelines hanging across the road were removed, abandoned and condemned vehicles on the roadside were towed away. Shops and vendors utilizing the footpath for displaying as well as selling their goods were asked to clear the footpath and leave space for pedestrians, makeshift urinals and temporary market sheds on the roadside were also removed. The KDA said the drive was carried out so as to ensure vehicular traffic and pedestrian movement in the state capital is eased.
NSCN (IM) Lotha Region recovers vehicle
Dimapur, November 29 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Lotha Region recovered one Xylo Vehicle/mD4 CRDe in Wokha region. As per a press release from its Kilonser/care taker CAO, Mozamo Ngullie, the silver colored vehicle was without any relevant documents and in damaged condition. The vehicle bears registration number: WB-06 C -7838 and chassis number: 0304FCO240N. The NSCN (IM) has requested the legitimate owner concerned to claim the same by producing its valid documents within a period of 7 days with effect from the issue of this notice.
