Narcotic Cell destroys 3430 kg of poppy straw

Dimapur, December 6 (MExN): The Narcotic Cell of the Excise Department carried out destruction of 3430 kg of Poppy Straw in the Excise Directorate Complex, Dimapur on December 6. A press release from S Chanlei Angh, Deputy Commissioner of Excise (NC) said the destruction was carried out with permission of the District & Sessions Judge, Dimapur and carried out by the Drugs Destruction Committee.

 

CCCTA extends Christmas greetings 

Dimapur, December 6 (MExN): Chümoukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association (CCCTA) have conveyed warm Christmas greetings to all the business establishments of Chümoukedima Town. The Association in a press release expressed gratitude to the shop owners who have already cleaned and decorated their shops welcoming the festive season. It further requested the shop owners that are yet to clean and decorate, to do so before December 10. There will be complimentary cash reward for the best three cleaned and well decorated shops. Also it informed that all the shops/markets are allowed to open till 8:00 pm on all days including Sundays from December 4 to January 5, 2020.

 

PEWT elects new office bearers

Wokha, December 6 (MExN): The Podinakup Ekhung Wokha Town (PEWT) held a general meeting on November 30. The union elected Zubemo Mozhui as chairman and Wobemo Jami as the general secretary. The union in a press release extended best wishes to all the office bearers for the tenure 2019-2023.

 

Mon DLSA visits legal aid clinics 

Mon, December 6 (MExN): Mon DLSA PLVs took up the initiative of visiting Legal Aid Clinics within Mon District in the month of November and gave one hour awareness programme to 6 Clinics. As per a press release form Mon DLSA, the six clinics are Mon village LAC, Longshen Sub-town LAC, Phomching Sub-town LAC, Longwa Village LAC, Longchang village LAC and District Jail LAC. The release stated that it reached out to more than 800 peoples, where the importance of LAC was shared. The DLSA also distributed various legal booklets and had an interaction. In the district jail, there were 79 total inmates at present, out of which 19 inmates were convicted and 57 inmates are UTPs. Through this campaign many people were made known about the existence of Legal Services Authority in Dist. State & National Level and also the activities which are carried out every month.


 
Jalukie town conducts mass social work

Peren, December 6 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming Christmas Festival, a mass social work was carried out within Jalukie town jurisdiction on December 4. The work was conducted under the supervision of ADC Jalukie, Dr Tinojongshi Chang along with Jalukie Town Council. The social work was actively participated by all government establishments, business establishments and general public.
