PBYO golden jubilee today
Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The Phek Basa Youth Organization (PBYO) will be celebrating its golden jubilee on December 18 at Phek Basa village under the theme “Youth Empowerment.” MLA Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu will grace the occasion as the special guest. Act of blessings will be pronounced by Phek Basa Baptist Church, senior pastor Zhievesa Nienu. Greetings will be shared by Phek Basa Village Council chairman Razouhu Kezo, while welcome address will be delivered by PBYO president Thenusa Venuh.
Abandoned Autorickshaw found
Dimapur, December 17 (MExN): The Office of the Dimapur District Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union (DDADU) has found an abandoned Autorickshaw (petrol), bearing registration no. NL07F6496 behind Labour Office, Puranan Bazaar. A press release from the Union has asked the rightful owner to claim it with proper documents within 7 days from the date of publication. CEO informs on Draft Publication of Photo Electoral Rolls
Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Abhijit Sinha, IAS has informed all concerned that the Draft Publication of Photo Electoral Rolls in connection with Special Summary Revision, 2020 with reference to January 1, 2020 as the qualifying date has been done in all the 60 Assembly Constituencies of the State by the concerned Electoral Registration Officers on December 16. Sinha in a press release said the copy of the said roll is available for inspection at the offices of the Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer and Booth Level Officers. If, with reference to the qualifying date, there be any claim for the inclusion of a name in the roll or any objection to the inclusion of name or any objection to particulars in an entry, it should be lodged with the concerned ERO/AERO in the relevant form latest by January 15, 2020, the release added. The draft roll is also made available in the website www.ceo.nagaland.gov.in. Applications may also be filed online through nvsp.in
Documentary film screening on ‘Health & youth in post-conflict Nagaland’
Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The Kohima Institute will be screening documentary film: “Health and youth in post-conflict Nagaland” featuring short films by Keduokuolie Pienyu, Thepfuchanuo Kire and Benrilo Shitiri on December 18 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at The Kohima Institute, Meluri Road, Ziekezou Colony, Kohima.
Ex PAN emergency meeting
Dimapur, December 17 (MExN): The President Ex Parliamentarian’s Association of Nagaland (Ex PAN) has convened an emergency general meeting on December 19, 11:00 am onwards at SI Jamir, Ex PAN Advisor's residence near Delhi Public School Dimapur. GPPK to release Souvenir of WW II
Kohima, December17 (MExN): The organising committee under the aegis of the Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima (GPPK) in association with Gorkha NGOs & Clubs will be organizing the Souvenir Release Program of the WWII, Battle of Kohima in the context of settlement of Gorkhas on December 18, 10:00 am at Gorkha Public Panchayat Complex, Chandmari, Kohima. Tongpang Ozukum, Minister for Housing & Mechanical; Dr Neikiesalie Kire, Advisor for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs and Thepfuvilie Suohu, Chairman Tsütuonuomia Khel Council, Kohima Village as the chief guest, honored guest and special guest respectively. CWUD annual picnic cum general session
Dimapur, December 18 (MExN): The Chesezu Welfare Union Dimapur (CWUD) will be organizing annual picnic cum general session on December 20 at 11:00 am. The get-together will be held at the residence of Vekhosayi Nyekha (Diphupar B). The day shall witness quartet competition and sharing by Reverend Fr Vekhocüyi Ringa, among others, said a press release from the Union. The new office bearers for the next tenure shall also be formally inducted during the session and meritorious certificates to be given to performing students who secured 80% & above during the academic year. It requested the deserving students to submit their marksheets to Zavetso Nyekha (+91-9612-471-502) before the session. The organizers have invited all the Chesezumi citizens, in-laws and well-wishers residing in the Western Area to attend the session without fail. The Union also requested all the attendees to join the gathering “with a traditional touch as a way of upholding our culture.”
Two unidentified dead bodies recovered
Dimapur, December 17 (MExN): One unidentified male dead body (40-45 years) was recovered at siding area near Rail Bazar (towards Rangapahar) Dimapur on December 17. The cause of death was suspected to be due to illness. On completion of legal formalities, the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur for post mortem examination. On the same day, another unidentified male dead body (25-30 years) was recovered at parking area near Sarswati Mandir, Dimapur. As per a press release from Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur, the cause of death was suspected to be due to illness. On completion of legal formalities the dead body was shifted to District Hospital Dimapur for post mortem examination. Claimant/relatives/friends of the deceased have been requested to contact Officer-in-Charge, GRPS, Dimapur.
TASWF conducts financial literacy camp
Kohima, December 17 (MExN): The Tizu Area Students’ Welfare Forum (TASWF) has organized financial literacy camp on December 9 last at Bethany I community hall, Phek. The camp was sponsored by State Bank of India, Phek branch. The speakers of the camp included; Birjeet Singh, lead branch manager and Temjen Lhangiri, Branch Manager. The programme was chaired by Velilii Rhakho while welcome address was delivered by Mudotso Nuwiry. Other who graced the camp included; Lari S. Lyngdoh, field officer (SBI, Phek), Rohit Kumar, junior associate (SBI Phek), Dr. Nutazo Lohe, Asst. Prof. (Phek Government College) and Shekhohü Chizo, Asst. Prof. (Phek Government College). Around 90 college students turned up at the camp.
