DBS extends Christmas greetings
Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): The Dimapur Bangali Samaj (DBS) has extended Christmas and New Year greetings to all the believers and the best of health, peace and prosperity. Advocate KK Paul, President, DBS in a press release also wished one and all that the New Year ushers in “a lot of positive change, great fellow feeling and camaraderie and limitless happiness.”
NSF office to close from today
Kohima, December 20 (MExN): The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has informed that its office will remain closed from December 21 to January 13, 2020. The Federation in a press release from its President Ninoto Awomi further extended warm greetings on the occasion of Christmas and New Year celebration and prayed that the season be filled with good tidings in the true spirit of Christmas. ANCSU office to remain closed from Dec 21
Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): The office of the All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has informed that its office shall remain closed from December 21 and will resume on January 14, 2020. A press release issued by its President Vimeyiekho Vitso and General Secretary Imnameren N Jamir further extended Christmas greetings and a prosperous New Year ahead.
NPCC office closed from Dec 20
Kohima, December 20 (MExN): The office of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC), Congress Bhavan, Kohima will remain closed from December 20 to January 10, 2020, in view of Christmas and New Year. However in an exigency case, the NPCC in a press release informed, the office shall open and requested all the party members and office staff to note the same.
AR Tuensang Bn holds interaction with Tobu Council
Mon, December 20 (MExN): Tuensang Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted an interaction with village GBs, Chairman of Tobu village and its surrounding areas on December 19. Five GBs, Chairman and 15 secretary, villagers participated. As per a press release from Lt Col, L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N), during the interaction, importance of peace and harmony in the region was reemphasised so that progress and development of the region can continue and gain pace. Villagers were also made aware on the present situation, Fit India Movement, Swachhata Abhiyan and forthcoming meritorious sportspersons recruitment rally which was likely to be held in April/May 2020. Towards the end, the release said everyone pledged to continue with such interactions in future and the villagers assured their support to Security Forces in the overall peace and development of the region.
AR HQ 5 Sector releases coffee table book
Kohima, December 20 (MExN): The High Fives, a special coffee-table book was released by Major General & PC Nair and Brigadier Sandeep S Sharda, DIG 5 Sector, Assam Rifles to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of the Sector. A press release from Lt Col L Vincent Patton, PRO, HQ IGAR (N) said the Kohima office of India Post also released a commemorative postal cover to mark the 60th Anniversary of the headquarters at Chieswema. The release said that 5 Sector is the oldest headquarters in Nagaland having being raised in 1959. The Sector has been responsible for security in Central and Southern Nagaland. Since 1968, it was located in Kohima and then moved to Chieswema in 2006. The release added that number of events have been observed by the personnel to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee year including visit of orphan children to the Sector HQ, tree plantation drive, medical camp and Fit India Run.
