Fair Price Shops directed to open Mon-Sat

DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): The Superintendent of Food and Civil Supplies has directed all urban/rural Fair Price Shops under Dimapur district to keep themselves open from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 AM to 3:00 PM to issue foodgrains to a maximum of 20 to 30 beneficiaries in a day. This order has been issued in order to avoid mass gathering as part of preventive measure to stop the spread of COVID-19 till further order. 

 

AGOK condemns assault against EAC Sakraba

DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): The Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK) has condemned the “physical assault with intent to murder against” one of its members, Abeinuo Jasmine Ashao, EAC Sakraba, by a staff member at Pfütsero on March 12. The AGOK views this incident as a very serious and condemnable act, emanating from a government employee, against his own controlling Officer, who acted sincerely and honestly to correct a wrongdoing by a government servant, informed a press release issued by the AGOK president, Dr Kedozeto Punyu and general secretary, Megolhou Dolie, issued through the DIPR. The AGOK also expresses its deep resentment at the granting of bail and subsequent release of the accused and urged the competent authorities to “revoke the bail order and to mete out appropriate action towards the culprit at the earliest.” 

 

BJP’s 60 A/C candidate welcomes veteran politicians to party

DIMAPUR, MARCH 20 (MExN): The BJP’s 60 Pungro-Kiphire candidate State Executive Member, T Yankiu Yimchunger has welcomed several veteran politicians into the BJP fold. They include former NPP candidate, James; former MLA, RL Akhamba; former candidate, Tsapikiu; former standby, Shophu; former PFPS President, Kiusumew; and former YTC president, Tbsesong.  “They have taken the right decision at the right time and right moment,” the press release stated adding that “such right—thinking leaders will also soon join the party.” “Sincere efforts, hard work and commitment towards the party will ultimately build a strong and prosperous party for better development of our society in general,” it added.
