NCD postpones general meeting
DIMAPUR, MARCH 22 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has postponed its annual general meeting which was scheduled to be held on March 24 till further orders. A press release from NCD general secretary, Thsapongkyu Sangtam informed that this has been necessitated in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and in line with the State Government’s order.
NSCN (R) discharges one
DIMAPUR, MARCH 22 (MExN): The NSCN (R) today informed that it has discharged Sgt Maj Vipoto with immediate effect through an order signed by the GSO -1. A press release from the MIP, NSCN (R) said that “undisciplined acts which tantamounts to willful defiance that was detrimental to the National Principle and Azah, constrained the Naga Army Authority to initiate punitive action upon the defaulter.” The NSCN (R) asked all to take note that the person “is no longer connected with the NSCN (R) and hence, shall bear no liabilities or responsibilities to any of his conducts whatsoever.”
NIT Nagaland fraternity mourns
DIMAPUR, MARCH 22 (MExN): Director of NIT, Nagaland, S Venugopal today expressed sadness at the demise of late Kevinguto Khate on March 16. “Late Kevin has greatly contributed to the growth of NIT Nagaland, in particular undertaken lots of consultancy work, which enabled the institute to obtain greater visibility and revenue. We do acknowledge his service as a warden for a good number of years until date,” a press release from the NIT Nagaland Director stated. “With a very heavy heart, the NIT fraternity — the teaching & non-teaching staff along with all students would like to convey our heartfelt condolence for the loss of such a promising and highly potential young man,” he added. He meanwhile alongwith the Registrar and administrative staff assured to provide all support administratively viable.
