Kohima Medical Board exam postponed
KOHIMA, April 8 (MExN): The Medical Board Examination for confirmation of service, invalidation, Commutation Pensions etc for Grade III and Grade IV to be held on May 7 has been postponed indefinitely in view of the COVID-19 Health emergency. This was informed to all Head of Departments in a press release from Kohima Chief Medical Officer Dr Vezokholu Theyo on Wednesday.
ASTD appeals to public
Dimapur, April 9 (MExN): The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) office today expressed concern over people thronging grocery stores causing chaos and panic buying without maintaining social distancing as per the guidelines and directives of State Government. ASTD, President L Wati Jamir and Secretary, K Mar Lemtur in a press release stated that it was utterly surprised to witness free flow of public without maintaining proper social distancing of one metre thereby endangering general public safety from contaminating the dreaded disease of Coronavirus. ASTD therefore, fervently appeal the public of Dimapur town not panic or spread rumors but to strictly adhere to the guidelines and directives issued by the District Administration and Government Advisories from time to time.
DC Kiphire informs FPS to distribute foodgrain
Kiphire, April 9 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kiphire Sarita Yadav IAS, informed the FPS both in rural & urban to distribute the foodgrain to all the beneficiaries under PHH& AAY in the Kiphire district targeted public distribution system FREE OF COST for a period of three months (April, May and June) 2020 and ensure that foodgrain of the said scheme should reached out all the beneficiaries at the right time. She also informs that if any FPS is found selling/diversion or misusing the allocation mean for FREE DISTRIBUTION should be penalised by cancellation of license and action to be taken as laid down in Essential Commodities Act 1955. She also mentioned that while distributing the foodgrain to the beneficiaries counter signature of ADS and District administration for this scheme and submit record as soon as distribution of foodgrain is completed.
DC Dimapur informs on exemption
Dimapur, April 9 (MExN): All agencies engaged in farming operations and other agriculture related activities in Dimapur district have been exempted from the purview of the lockdown , Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Anoop Khinchi informed on Wednesday. In this connection, the DC issued a circular stating that “movement of farmers and other persons involved in agriculture activities should not be restricted in the colonies/villages.”
Kohima DC directs
KOHIMA, APRIL 9 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima has directed any person who may have entered any colony, war or village in Kohima after March 6 and has not reported to the Medical Department to cumpolsarily report to the helpline number: 8837093602/7005464959. An order from the Kohima DC further directed all colony, ward, village councils to check, authenticate and report any such cases to the helpline numbers.
NDPP mourns
Kohima, April 9 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has expressed sadness at the demise of Keduvepa Vese, President NDPP 19th Phek Assembly Constituency, on April 8 at Phek town after a prolonged illness. Keduvepa was one of the pioneer members of the NDPP and was a part of the NDPP organisation right from its inception having played an instrumental role in the establishment of the party in Phek District. NDPP President Chingwang Konyak in a press release stated that in his demise, NDPP in particular and Phek district in general has lost a visionary leader and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
