GVYO adopts resolutions  
KOhima, May 20 (MExN): Gariphema Village Youth Organization (GVYO) has totally banned, within its jurisdiction, usage of air rifles, poisonous chemicals and machines, batteries, generator etc on fishing, burning jungle /forest fire, hunting and collection of medicinal plant in the reserved forest, use of gun by under age (Below 18 years). This was resolved during the first executive meeting of the newly elected GVYO office bearers for the tenure 2014-16. In a release, GVYO Press Secretary Kezhangulie Kire further requested the visitors to the village to seek prior permission and approval while conducting camp from the action committee of the village youth body. The GVYO also vowed to protect the flora and fauna in the village for “our better tomorrow.” The youth organization cautioned that violator(s) of the above mentioned rules will be punished in accordance with the GVYO resolutions.

PVSU lauds upgradation of Govt High School
Kohima, May 20 (MExN): Pungro Village Students Union (PVSU) has lauded the Government of Nagaland, Department of School Education for upgrading the Government High School Pungro to Secondary School (GHSS) which it said is a dream come true for the people of Pungro area. PVSU further appealed to all the staff of newly upgraded school to impart quality education and further called upon the students and people of the area to make best use of it. K. Joseph, Education and Statistic Secretary and Akamba K, President further added that a career guidance programme was organized for all the successful candidates of HSSLC and HSLC 2014 at the Council Hall Pungro village where David Deshelen was the resource person.

SP Kiphire requests public to share information 
Kiphire, May 20 (MExN): The Superintendent of Police, Kiphire has requested the public to come forward without any hesitation to “share any information regarding any crisis taking place in any part of the district.” The general public can also approach the Police for any information or assistance in any form at any time without hesitation, he added.

In a press release, SP H Kuhovi Sema also extended gratitude to the public of Kiphire district in general, and particularly the civil societies, NGOs and VGs for their co-operation and support in conducting the recent Lok Sabha Elections smoothly and without any violence or disturbance in the entire district. “The Kiphire District Police looks forward for such co-operations from the general public, NGOs and civil societies for tackling any situation in the district even in the days to come,” it added.

Tube well commissioned at Chozuba Town
Chozuba, May 20 (DIPR): Director, Geology & Mining Department S.K. Kenye commissioned a tube well at Chozuba Town, Phek district on May 19. Speaking on the occasion, the Director stressed on the importance of water as a precious resource and urged the public to use the tube well optimally. Acknowledging the magnanimity and generosity of the department, ADC Chozuba, Polan John, on behalf of the Adhoc Town Committee, Chozuba expressed gratitude to the Director, Jt. Director, Geologist, Engineers and the entire team of the Geology & Mining Department for providing the tube well. The programme was chaired by Dr. Chisoi, Joint Director. Joint Director, A. Temjentoshi stressed on the technical aspect of the project.
